The Art:
Ever since primitive cultures gathered around campfires, the art of storytelling has enlightened and entertained people. Today’s storytellers connect us by building verbal bridges that span cultures and generations. StoryVoices continues this oral tradition adding the magic of theatre.
The Program:
Four female actors, perfoming as individuals and as an ensemble, tell stories through prose, poetry and song in four part harmony. Taking the audience on a theatrical journey, each StoryVoices production explores the many aspects of a single universal theme. Drawing on literary, historical, contemporary and original writings, StoryVoices seamlessly weaves an unforgettable tapestry of telling for adult audiences…storytelling theatre that entertains and inspires.
The Ensemble:
The four women of StoryVoices, Jan Ahders, Claire Lipschultz, Cynthia Mitchell and Marni Webb, bring years of experience in spoken word artistry to their productions. Individually and together, they have performed on stages throughout
California
and on national projects for television, film, radio and audio books. Each actor has earned excellence in performance recognition, including Elly,
New York
and London Film Festival, Silver Microphone, Addy and Clio Awards.
